Sandplay Therapy

Jungian Sandplay Therapy is a non-directive approach developed by Dora Kalff during the late 1950’s in Switzerland. Sandplay is solely grounded in Analytical Psychology. The sandplay therapist provides a "free and protected space" without making comments, passing judgement, or interpreting the tray. Jungian Sandplay Therapy is a powerful therapeutic tool for healing. I have completed years of intensive training with The Association of Sandplay Therapy and with Dr. Barbara Turner.

Since 2016, I have been acquiring different figures that are part of my sandplay collection. These figures represent real life and imagination. The sand player chooses figures and then places them in a sand tray to create a small world. Sand players may also create their own figures to place in the tray using art supplies from my office. One of the sand trays can be used with water, it all depends on the preference of the sand player.

Dr. Barbara Turner provides a brief overview of Jungian Sandplay Therapy.
